Germany lose the last international fixture in 2008 in Berlin. Joachim Löw’s side are beaten by the odd goal in three.
Bayer 04 keeper René Adler played the first half, Patrick Helmes the second half and Simon Rolfes the full 90 minutes. Adler failed to connect with a corner on 24 minutes allowing Matthew Upson to put England 1-0 up. Bayer 04 striker Patrick Helmes bagged the equaliser after the break. He exploited a defensive slip between goalkeeper Scott Carson and captain John Terry and was able to stroke the ball into an empty England net. That was Helmes’ first goal for Germany in nine international appearances.
The other Bayer 04 internationals fared much better. With the exception of Richard Sukuta-Pasu ( Germany U19s) none of them came away with a defeat.
