Just a few days after being nominated for North Rhine Westphalia Sports Personality of the Year 2008 in the newcomer category Bayer 04 keeper René Adler has another reason to celebrate. European Sports Magazines, which includes ten European sports journals, have selected Adler for their October team of the month.

The magazine selects the eleven players who, in their opinion, are the best European footballers in that month. This is then the team of the month. Kicker, Gazetta dello Sport from Italy and Voetbal International from Holland nominated Adler as the best goalkeeper in Europe in October. Along with Vedad Ibisevic from newly promoted 1899 Hoffenheim he represents the Bundesliga in this team of international stars.
