Bayer 04 v VfL Wolfsburg stats

VfL Wolfsburg are one of Bayer 04’s favourite opponents - at least when the Wolves visit Leverkusen. The Werkself have collected more points from VfL in the BayArena than from any other club (2.45 on average).

The Bayer 04 home record against the Wolves is almost perfect – 8 wins and 3 draws.

Last season, the Wolves had a great chance to register their first away win against Bayer when they twice took the lead. An own goal from Ricardo Costa dashed their hopes and was the final goal in a 2-2 draw.

Leverkusen have now gone 14 games without a draw – the longest run of any Bundesliga club. The Werkself last shared the points in the 2-2 home draw with Wolfsburg.

Bayer have won the last three matches 2-0. The last time the Werkself won three or more games in succession was back in November/December 2007 when they came out on top 5 times in a row.

The Wolves have score at least once in their last 13 outings – that is currently the longest run of goals in the league.

The Leverkusen Arena has seen the most headed goals in the Bundesliga (6). Our visitors Wolfsburg have scored the equal highest number of headed goals (7, as have Schalke).

VfL have been awarded the most penalties (4) which they all converted. Grafite is the Bundesliga’s top penalty taker (3) so far this season.

Bayer have scored the most goals in the first 30 minutes (10).

Arturo Vidal has scored three times in his last five matches – the Chilean had previously only scored once in 29 Bundesliga appearances. All his goals in a Bayer shirt have been scored away from home

Wolfsburg have the leading goal provider in the league in the guise of Zvjezdan Misimovic (5 assists).
