On 1 April 1999 Bayer 04 were the first German football club to split off their professional football section from the parent club of “TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen” and so “Bayer 04 Leverkusen Fußball GmbH” was founded. Wolfgang Holzhäuser is the current managing director.
